Reason for all Seasons

Reason for all Seasons

2 Corinthians 2:5-8

We have all heard people comment about the real reason for the season, which of course should be a celebration of the birth of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. I will not go over that because I believe it is everyone's free will choice to either acknowledge Him as that or not. We will all eventually have to make a decision regarding that sooner or later. I hope and pray that you make an affirmative decision to receive Him sooner. He is the answer you have all been searching for.

What I would like to discuss now is how we interact with each other, not only during the holidays but throughout the year. Whether you believe God created the entire universe and everything and everyone in it, or not, the people on planet earth should, at least, make and effort to be civil to one another at all times. We need each other and very often depend on each other just to survive. 2 Corinthians 8:12-15. If you believe as I do that God created mankind in His image and likeness Genesis 5:1-2 we must agree that we have some of the characteristics of God. We are His family. God is Love as written in 1 John 4. So understanding and acknowledging this should lead us to consider a much closer look at our relationships with Him and our fellow men and women.

I realize how difficult it can be to even like some people not to mention developing a friendly relationship with them, or love them. However, if we profess to be Christians and are witnessing the example of Jesus as children of God we should be able to see the real God-created person in everyone and love that person. Not the false persona many people portray. Many people hide behind a false identity for protection because the world can be a very tough place for some to exist in. Fear of someone or something is most often the cause. We don’t have to like what some people say or do but we have to realize from where it comes, look for source, make an effort to help them work through it to find the truth, and love the real person. I don’t believe any of us can say we haven’t made mistakes in our life. The basic difference is we had people and examples to learn from and opportunities that many never receive, not to mention forgiveness.

My point in this message is to remind us to treat all people the way we would like to be treated if you ever found yourself in their situation. Matthew 7:12. We all need fellowship, relationship, respect, encouragement, and the fruit of the Spirit as described in Galatians 5:22-23. What better way to celebrate the holidays and the birth of Jesus Christ than to model His example to a very divided, contentious and often dangerous world. The condition of our society is a reflection of us all.

The world can be changed if we truly want to change it. Every individual on this planet can make a difference if they just step out and make the effort. One person can initiate the change in this world but it will take the many that one person influences to complete the process. We were all created to love one another and treat each other with equality allowing opportunity and equity to flow from beneficial relationships.

Love and Peace, Amen

Staying Positive and Hopeful 8/7/25 I have always believed we all should chose to maintain a positive and hopeful attitude even when everything around us reflects uncertainty, deception, contention, semi-controlled chaos and fear of the unknown. Why should we let the world or anything in it control us? The only exception is what God has willed. A Christian person should always have hope, if not so much in this life always in the next. Our attitude and character should shine brightly in this world so that others might desire to follow our example and share the assured hope that we have always had. We know and understand why Jesus Christ came to this earth for the short time of 33 plus years. He came to give us an example of how we are to live our lives and ultimately to sacrifice His life so that we would have the opportunity to follow His example here on earth and eventually live for eternity in heaven with Him and Father God. Do we accept this opportunity or do we live our...

UTOPIA: Is it possible?

UTOPIA: Is It Possible? The Lord will speak to anyone who will acknowledge Him, ask, and then listen. He spoke to me about Utopia and prompted me to write about it. As you read the scripture from the book of Matthew 6:9-13 it will be very familiar to most but I ask you to pay special attention to verse 10. Quote, “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” end quote. There have been many attempts throughout the ages to bring a form of utopia (heaven) to earth, but it never has been successful. I believe because it has always been man’s interpretation and doomed to ultimate failure because of our imperfection. Perhaps when we really think about it we have to question whether it is even possible. But then again it is in the Bible and conceivably possible. Although it would have to follow God’s definition of utopia to succeed. What exactly is the true definition of utopia? Websters dictionary gives what I think is a relatively accurate definition, a...
